Caleb's Un-chicken pox

Friday before we moved Caleb broke out in a rash on his lower belly that looked suspiciously like Chicken Pox. He got the vaccine a year ago at his 1 year old appointment, so I would have been surprised and pretty upset if he had them. We somehow got him in to the doctor that same day (good thing since we moved the very next day!!) and Doc said she didn't think they were CP, but she wasn't sure what it was. Gave us a broad spetrum antibiotic, which we were not able to get filled until Sunday, and it has helped clear up the spots. Still not sure what it is/was, but at least it is going away. Can you imagine Chicken Pox and moving to a new city at the same time? Simply horrid.

Carly sleeps! She is falling into a great routine! In fact she is sleeping right now, and I should probably go wake her so she will sleep tonight. That is muy importante right now as we are all pooped from unpacking!

Did he have a fever? I know my Natalie broke out into "spots" and her daycare teachers scared me that it was the chicken pox. It was a Friday night so we ended up taking her to the ER since we couldn't get her to a Dr. right away and they told me it was from a virus (cold) and her having a fever that caused the spots. They just gave us something for her ear infection and told us that it will run it's course. Sure enough, it went away in a day or 2. My kids are good at scaring me all the time!

Glad Caleb is doing well!

I feel for you moving right now.. ugh!

yeah, he had a very low grade fever Thursday night, about 100.7, but the next morning he was fine. The spots got worse over that night too. He is almost completely better now! We'll stick with the antibiotic and hope it doesn't come back when we're done with it!
