Teeth and feet

So life after a first birthday isn't so bad. I still am in denial about the fact that I have a child that is more than a year old though. I don't know if that will go away any time soon. He is still so small and sweet and little and cute and baby-like. Anyway, this is a blog about Caleb, not about mom and my crazy hormonal feelings.

We are still not walking on our own, but it is getting ever closer. I've been saying that for months now! He is still only at about 10 steps at a time. He cruises along the walls and all the way around the room pretty darn fast, and even lets go in between if it's only a step or two. We try to get him to walk to us all the time but he's very unsure of himself. He does like the tile floor more than the carpet. I guess it's easier for him to get his balance but Oh does it make mamadaddy nervous!!

Yesterday I randomly did a sweep for teeth. I stuck my finger way back there and CHOMP I felt a big molar biting my finger! So I checked the other side.... CHOMP again. He has his top molars in the back.. Skipped the I-teeth I guess. No wonder he's been really biting at his food lately - he has chompers! He took a real bite of a piece of cheese the other day. It was cute seeing that tiny little rip... almost like a mouse was nibbling at it!

Oh yes, back to the feet/walking thing. I had his foot sized at the Stride Rite store on Wednesday. He wears size 4 BUT the girl said he has WIDE feet (or just fat) and SKINNY ankles. No wonder I can't get a regular size 4 shoe to stay on his cottonpickin' foot! His feet are too wide!! And No, I didn't buy any shoes at the Stride Rite store... can't bring myself to pay $44 for a pair of shoes... Although I found a pair of cool sandals that I WANT for him really bad. (Stage 2 "skip" shoes in brown, size 4, if anyone is feeling charitable)

Here are a few funny messy-baby pictures! MMMMM, Lasagna!
